Lelik was found on the street in severe condition. Examinations revealed squamous cell carcinoma of the ear and four air gun pellets (in his chest and jaw). No metastases were found, and his lymph nodes are normal — he has a chance for treatment.

What happened
On Easter, a volunteer noticed a cat near a garbage bin by Avala mountain. He was missing a part of his left ear, looked exhausted and severely ill.
After a visit to the clinic, it turned out the problem was more serious than initially thought: a biopsy confirmed ear cancer, and and an X-ray and CT scan showed four old air gun pellets.
To ensure transparency and official tracking, the fundraising is organized through the NGO (Udruženje za zaštitu životinja “HOG”) bank account.
Medical status

Confirmed squamous cell carcinoma of the skin

No invasion of blood and lymphatic vessels detected (no metastases)

Lymph nodes are unchanged

Four old air rifle pellets were found (three in the chest, one in the jaw)

CT scan completed: tympanic bullae (middle ear) are clear. The cancer is localized!

A local infection (Enterobacter cloacae) was found. We are currently treating it with antibiotics to reduce anesthetic risks before the procedure.

Serological tests for infectious diseases: Lelik is FIV positive, but FeLV negative.

Due to anemia (hematocrit dropped to 20.2%), Lelik will need a blood transfusion after the surgery.

The surgery is scheduled for June 4th at 16:00!
